Getting Started

Before anyone starts Pilates, there are a few questions you need consider that will effect your starting point and progression.

  • What is your Fitness Level?
  • Exercise Schedule (morning or evenings)?
  • Athletic or Dance Background?
  • Past/Present Injuries?
  • Health Budget?
  • Short or Long Term Goals?
  • First Time Exerciser?

The Fox River Pilates Center is devoted to starting it's new clients at the beginning of the learning process. This applies to those who have had prior Pilates training, as well as those who are truly trying Pilates for the first time. We have learned from experience that not all Pilates studios or instructors are created equally.

At the Fox River Pilates Center using a fundamentals first philosophy we take pride in the integrity of our teaching and our clients Pilates experience. Whether you begin with our New Client Special or our Introductory Classes, everyone will learn the basics before being advanced to joining our more flowing or rigorous classes. Each of the "things to consider above", will affect your personal progress and how you move forward in the process of learning Pilates. Patience and perseverance are still, and always will be some of the most important virtues, even in a day and age where we are used to having everything "right now" and literally at our fingertips. Most things that are worth pursuing require patience with process. We believe that the Pilates Method is well worth pursuit. Just ask our clients.

When you are ready to begin, all new clients must read and sign our Class Policies, Intake Form, & Waiver. You can print this at home and fill it out prior to your first visit or arrive 10 minutes early and fill one out at the Fox River Pilates Center
